Sent Grad School Application!
On this very day, I’ve finally made the step to apply for graduate school at Oklahoma State University. Since there is no specific scholarship for that department, I have also sent application to be a graduate assistant for the department so that my tuition can be waived. Only one out of two universities in the states that offer the Masters in International Studies Program. This has always been a dream for me and an expectation from my parents. Pray for me… I hope they will accept me and grant me the assistantship!
This was my first time to perform the Golek Ayun-Ayun dance. With the complete costume, I couragely danced my way through the show. I did some mistakes that I knew I would, but it wasn’t noticable thank God. I’ve anticipated it. I admit, I’m not a true dancer. I only dance when I feel the need to perform. I used to dance when I was in kindergarten and elementary school, who doesn’t? All Indonesian elementary school students are obliged to learn some kind of dance. The Butterfly dance (Tari kupu-kupu) to name one; and oh! The Coconutshell Dance (Tari Bathok) which I danced in the middle of the Sekaten Fair! Hah, what a memory. When I got back from the U.S. and started my highschool in Jogja, I continued my dancing lessons, focusing on traditional Javanese dances. Though I must have been a pain for my teachers for I can never mendhak low enough. It can be very exhausting! Salut to true
